- "Women Healers of the World" is an insightful documentary on women who heal with natural herbs. Holly Bellebuono takes us around the world to meet 52 amazing women who have dedicated their lives to educate themselves on holistic healing with herbs in order to help others. She groups the healing traditions into 16 categories, and offers the cultural history on the countries where these alternative healing modalities originated. There are also recipes to try in your own kitchen for a variety of health issues. This is an informative and educational book, and I would purchase it again.
- AWESOME book. I got rid of every book I have (except for my pro library at the office)- but this coffee table book is enlightening and informative in many ways. As a 20 year herbalist and a 12 year acupuncturist, this was something that I could sink my teeth into, but anyone can read. Great pics too.
- This is a fantastic book for anyone who wants to understand the history of healing and medicine in what we know from recorded history and from archaeological finds. While it is disturbing to recognize the intense misogyny that has impacted women as healers throughout this history, it is important knowledge to bring out into the world.
