Your Pelvic Health Book A Guide to Pelvic Floor Awareness Bladder Health Bowel Health Sexual Health and Changes throughout Your Lifetime for People Floor Physical Therapy Series Book 3 edition by Jen Torborg Professional Technical eBooks Reviews

  • I am a pelvic floor physical therapist and know most women don't talk to their doctor about their pelvic floor problems, or even realize help is available. That's why this book is important in raising awareness that help is available. The author, a PT herself, breaks it all down into an easy-to-read format with illustrations and practical advice for any person with a vagina who is leaking when she laughs, coughs or sneezes, runs to the bathroom every five minutes, suffers from chronic constipation, and more. If that describes you or someone you know, go see a pelvic floor PT. You don't have to live with any of this!
  • This book is a fabulous reference not only for pelvic rehab providers and their patients but ANYONE looking to understand what is going on 'down there', which includes pretty much all of us with vaginas and uteruses. It's to the point, easy and quick to read and the author makes excellent use of visuals and explains how to complete certain things with excellent direction. It also gives a great references section chapter by chapter for finding more info on a topic, provides tips that can make a HUGE difference for all, and then goes into more detail for those dealing with dysfunction and/or different life stages ranging from puberty to postmenopause. This book brings to light so many things that are just not common knowledge, but should be- hopefully we can begin to change that with publications like this! This is absolutely a book I will be utilizing in my clinic and will be referring people to both personally and professionally.
  • This book is an enjoyable read for anyone with questions or curiosity about pelvic health and anatomy. It’s informative, personal, and intriguing. As a Physical Therapist myself, this book serves as a nice refresher on pelvic health issues, and one to which I could refer patients. As a woman and mom, I appreciated the honest, but professional take on “personal issues”, and I would whole-heartedly recommend this book to my friends. Overall, great read, worth your time, and money well spent.
  • "Your Pelvic Health Book" brought new awareness and resources to pelvic floor issues that span the lifetime. The author touches on pelvic floor health issues, bladder and bowel health, sexual health, and menopause and changes experienced over the lifetime. This is a great resource for anyone, and the layout of the book is easy to read and provides practical- easy to digest information, with helpful pictures included! It was enjoyable to read, and informative without being overwhelming.
As a registered prenatal yoga teacher who focuses on the importance of the pelvic floor and as a mother of four, I found this to be a valuable resource that I strongly encourage and recommend everyone to enjoy!!!
  • Knowledge is power! Anyone that is not in tune with what is going on with their pelvic health needs to have a read. As a women's health physical therapist I have looked up to Jen Torborg's expert knowledge on the topic and I am so excited she has decided to share her secrets in this book series. Our pelvic floor has a very important function in every stage of life. That is why I recommend all my women's health patients to read these books and I am excited there is finally a resource out there for them that summarizes all the issues that may be going on. Thank you Jen!
  • This book would benefit anyone, whether you’re a teenager just trying to figure out their body to an experienced woman who’s navigating it’s changing nature. It’s very easy to read and digest with illustrations when needed. The author explains how the pelvic floor, bladder and bowel systems work very intimately with the rest of the body. Pelvic health is often overlooked even though it’s an important part of our overall health and well-being. While pelvic related dysfunction is common it is not normal and can be address with appropriate health professionals. Next step resources are provided for those with concerns.
  • All I kept thinking was, "This is what they should have told us in 9th grade health class." I might have a hard time explaining the toys to my middle schooler, but in a couple of years, it will all make sense, and what a straightforward way to explain it all to a young woman! Also, I didn't know bowel massage was a thing. Check it out on page 43. #AlwaysLearning.
  • An easy to read book filled with information on topics most don’t want to ask or perhaps, know to ask. This book offers many suggestions to help guide you to make small goals for yourself to acheive a number of healthy changes “down there”. The PT gives insight to some of the most common concerns regarding urinary, bowl and sexual heath. I, myself have started putting her words into action by focusing on pressurization in the body, connecting breathing with posture, muscle control and the nervous system. Having had a baby has changed my muscle tone and I notice when I do high impact activities like running or jumping that my pelvic floor muscles feel loose. I Look forward to gaining back my muscle tone by achieving one goal at a time through these practices.
